A very good essay but lengthy to read to say the least. Anyway,you've said it all. Another thing i should add in my polite manner is that the fuctionality of the system should relate the traders psychology.

To design a system, a trader has to consider what exact targets are to be met. If the trader decides that quick profits mainly on daily basis is what is preferred, then scalping will be a methodology of trade execution. If not on this basis, then higher time frames would be used.

It is important to design a system based on how the trader can adapt to risk tolerance. The main principle when a system is being built is the ability to make profits and the ability to keep losses in proper check.
