Depends on your account. If you have fix spread it fix no matter what the activity is. But I do agree that its bad for scalping during high impact news that why its better you know naked trading and hedging in order to take advantage when theirs a change of environment.

Where did you get this idea that scalping is trading big lots? Its a big mistake if you do that. Try to check facts first before you post because other newbies will think that's is the definition of scalping because its not.
Scalping is trading will low time frame probably 5 Minutes time frame and has a target profit of 10 pips on average. In scalping its quantity trading. Meaning you earn 10 pips average and close your position and open again until you have lots of multiple transaction that results to lots of profits.

I would say that in scalping the main thing is that the position must be Entered at the right time and this will only determine how much Profits a scalper is able to make

The only draw back of scalping is timing but you can remedy this by constantly practicing and trading. that's the strong point of scalping. This is about quantity trade vs quality trade. if you have 100 trade and have 60 trade making 15 pips profits each and 40 trade losing 10 pips in the end you are still earning money or making profit. that's the beauty of scalping if you know how.

My own opinion is that scalping trading is very important for all new traders. There are lot of advantages of scalping trading on forex market to make profit.
