I'm having an odd PayPal issue with my fathers account

I handle my fathers PayPal account, it has worked fine for about a year but now suddenly he's unable to send or receive payments. This is a major issue because he was planning on ordering Christmas presents on there.


I contacted PayPal and received this message

I'd encourage you to contact your credit card issuer and speak to someone who deals with online transactions to find out why this payment was denied. Please note that the general customer service at your bank may not be able to provide specific information on why a transaction was denied. You will need to contact the department in charge of online payments to obtain this information.

You may be able to complete this payment after you have spoken to your card issuer and resolved the issue. Alternatively you can add another credit card to your PayPal account, if you have one available.

the issue is not about paypal anymore it's between your father and your father card issuer you better clear this one up and once clear you can fully use paypal features again they are quite strict on this you know

Yes, it is not about paypal, your bank or CC provided don't give paypal access to your CC, so I think you just need to manually used your CC and try it if it works. If it doesn't try to contact your bank and ask them about the issue you encountered.

It has been clearly told that the problem is credit cards owned by your father. The credit card has expired. therefore you should contact your father and say it. for paypal to use your expired credit card will not be able to buy goods on sale site. but you can still receive money or send it but not in the form of payment.

I don't think that paypal has anything to do with problem of yours , it may be some problem with your bank account or credit card you added in paypal . To me , it looks like you exceeded your credit card limit , or something different is wrong with your credit card .

Well i have not been faced with such a situation before but with the way am seeing things, maybe you will come to understand that really you have to take note that whatever you are doing must be properly looked into without any stress of any kind. In fact you will come to understand that if you have such a problem, then you should take note of the activities that must be done by you. Just send them a message through their dispute and i think every thing will be solved.

It has already been stated by paypal, maybe the fault is not realy from them, i guess it's from your credit card issuer, so i suggest you forward a complain to them so they could rectify the issue right on time..

I think the reply of paypal is really clear on the reason. So if you want to have your father paypal account activated again its better you add debit card and not creditcard in this way you will have no problem maintaining your account. Me I still prefer to use debitcard and with minimum of 6 dollars a year I can keep it.

I think what this is indirectly telling you is that you need to get your account verified, i guess your dad must have been recieveing and transacting huge sum of money and which requires that he verify his account. I think that would do it.

The email clearly states that the problem is not in paypal . The problem is in your father's card .I will suggest you to contact to your bank for solving the issue because i don't think that paypal has to do anything with . The only thing you can do is to add a new card to your bank in order to use paypal again for making any transcation.

I think the problem is your card provider not the paypal. Because paypal has clearly stated that your card has blocked them . So you should try to contact your bank in order to resolve your problem . And i am sure that they will surely help you out.
