Google as a social networking site

What can you say, if google becomes a social networking site and the reason for the lose of facebook. Would it be great or you just want to stick with facebook? what can say about it?

They have already the ir social networking site which is called google+.
it is more similar to facebook. Not everyone yet can have an account because they are still on testing phase.

Well Google+ is a nice social platform with features like Circles, Sparks which represents like facebook groups and Newsfeed. They are slower than facebook due to flash versions in their site whch Facebook dont use. They use Javascript and Ajax so that it loads faster. BTW Google+ will take much time to compete with facebook becoz of Facebook's massive success and high populated Members and features.

They already had one google buzz but only few people still knows it,the reason is it's till in beta stage but many webmasters and affilate networkers are using it now,but coming from google it will one day became popular..

i am already at google+ but did not explore it anyway.i am very enthusiastic of their networking site, they are making it more user friendly and putting different, excitement application for youngster to whatever age who will join.facebook for sure will stay for a longer time but we never know if what other networking site can surpass them as of the moment.

maybe if then they able to give feature that facebook cant give to them then they will also able to get many member.but if im not mistaken we cant make any account if we didnt get any invitation from other,so then will make this site hard to get more members.

Everything that has been coming from google had been pretty cool and believe their social network will be the same. However, its after we have seen the features of google+ and what they have to offer before we will know if they could compete with facebook or not. Thus, i know it will be cool coming from google.

Google + is slowly becoming a threat to facebook. Google + have introduced the gaming features like on Facebook and for sure a lot of members like it. The features are really great but the problem is joining which is invitational.

I don't think it is becoming threat to facebook. I have google+ account and i feel horribly boring with facebook. Even their orkut is much better than google+. I have seen some good games in google+ but i don't play flash based games anymore. they're waste of time no matter where you play.

Fully furnished ? most of their features are already out and there is nothing new going to come up this year. Many users are saying that search engine results placement is bad faeture for family and people so they dont prefer google+. But only marketers want that feature and so they're using it.

i think it simple because Google+ doesn't applied Ads, not like facebook, there are a lot Ads in there, it seem people already like to twiter and facebook, so it's hard to unbound with them and using Google+

But we must not forget that certain individuals are pissed off with ads. Let us see years from now what will the outcome of google+. Let us wait until they officially launch it.

I think too many people put their hope too high on Google Social Networking website. Now, its Social Networking Website is on already, but there is nothing so bang after the launching.
Because, I think Google is the follower in this time, and not the Pioneer.

@cloud99, do you want family pictures and family members images on google search ? I don't want it. I am not sure about you. Ads along side my family members profiles is something i can't tolerate. So not going to give them credit for such open network.

@luke1- agree. their many projects failed and they don't pay attention to thier good projects. take case of wave, buzz, notebook and orkut. all are suffering from less attention. so they're not going to win with google+.

Im thinking also of that the images in google can be distributed when it will be search. Looks like that google social networking site will be in public. And i really dont want that. I want privacy on the profile. Seems the google failures are not reported well in our country.

I already have an account with google social network site, but i seldom use it and most of my friend are not into it. Maybe because of the negative feedback that it now earning why most people don't want to create an account in it. I hope they would improve its feature in the long run.

Orkut was much safe and protected in terms of profile visibility. You can talk without getting your views on the internet. But in case of google plus public visibility of pictures and profile over all is more. Though you can make posts private in google+ but there is no way to save your profile from being public.

Am not a member yet on google+ because i have not recieved invitation. Anyway,after seeing this many write up, am still going to take my time because it seem there's nothing special about it. It sound like the same old story we have been seeing on other social networks. Lets see how they will fare after they officially launch.

But how come facebook overcome friendster. I can even recall that years ago friendster is on the throne, reigning as the no. 1 best social networking site on the world. Bet Google lack a twist to add up on a social networking site.
