Google Social networking?

Google does not lack the technical prowess needed to create a brilliant social networking platform. Just look at the astounding number of technical battles it has won, from bringing the daily news from the whole world on one web page through Google News to scanning most of the world’s books through Google Books, or turning internet TV on its head with YouTube, but it’s Achilles Heel is turning out to be Social Networking.

Experts believe the reason for Google’s failure to launch, in a manner of speaking in this sphere, is due to massive strategic missteps. Unlike its other projects, when it comes to social networking, Google has been inline but not really ahead of time. Although, it has shown tremendous faith in the area by fuelling internal projects and acquiring social platforms like Social Deck and Angstrom.

Orkut is owned by google and it is in dying phase. They're now making orkut results in google results in order to get some visitors to the orkut. But i guess that is not working because orkut is slow and boring than facebook. Besides that orkut is one of the oldest social networking site but still not worthy to compete with facebok.

Flixya is another google social networking too..but the social networking is failed and not success..until now just small people active on the Flixya and that isn't because want enjoy to use that social networking site self but just for getting adsense account only..i think google was many times failed for promoting a social network feature..

Hmm, I never knew that Google owned Orkut and Flixya. Anyways, the social network that I only knew that succeeded and I use is Friendster and Facebook, and Apsense too. Maybe Google can dominate the field of searching and become number 1 but it doesn't mean it can dominate other field of internet like social networking.

I never knew that google has some network sites, maybe their social networking sites has lack of attention, or features to impress users and make them stay like facebook, it has a lot of features that wlll convince users to stay. And who knows google is making secretly a social networking site that will defeat facebook soon.

well i am not aware about this. maybe they are too old for me to know. and obviously they didn't success for having this. but i think many users there already transferred to Facebook and youtube. but it still on the internet so it means there are users who are still working for it. maybe in some places it is popular.

im not really sure but i think google is planning to launched a new socializng site called google cirle. It will soon be launched but im not so sure.

I saw that Google circle that you are mentioning, but I'm not sure if Google really owns it, well, I can see them now as a visitor on the site but still, I don't know if it is really a social networking site. I guess I'll try to check it later.

well orkut was at least a star some time back before facebook and linkedin and twitter came. But now this Flyxia, i havent even heard of this one any time guys.. Did google ever release this one or was it only in Beta stage and it was flopped?

i read one thread in here and its says that maybe google will launched a socializing site called cirles.. I dont know when will it launched but im sure it will be soon

Orkut used to be one of the most popular social sites one time.But due to emergence of more better and popular sites like facebook and twitter ,orkut's popularity has decreased.Either google will have to do something serious to reinnovate orkut or it will have to launch another networking site.Till now i haven't heard of anything like google circle.

I think it's not even a beta or just a trial of Google, it really doesn't own by Google, besides I think it's not even a social networking site because there are no registration on the website, there also no ads or welcome message, the message that we could only read there is the title of the website and the visitor of the website.

Google is the top online company i guess and i am sure is one of the richest but still they have not managed to succeed in making their own social networking website. I think facebook's success really is just luck. Google has all resources to create one social networking site but can not still i think luck differs here.

Yeah flixya almost fail because they are trying to pay users via Google adsense,but still people not that much interest in attending daily. Google need to think about this,if facebook keep increasing they will sure gone take no 1 place for sure. I think in some periods

If it didn't had success with their own social network they can anytime buy one the way they bought youtube. But i doubt facebook would be for sale anytime soon.

you are right about google
but i think face book also have much to make success more than that
and if google want to build social network it better be more powerful than face book

Well, facebook is the best, maybe for now, because I believe if Google will launched some social networking website, or if this Google circle is exactly the site, then they must think already the features that they will add on the social network, something that is more attracting than facebook, something that more useful on its application and games and mostly, something that will sustained the desired of the users.

After a year of speculation, Google is unveiling its entry into social networking with Google Plus.

Google announced Google Plus on Monday, immediately drawing comparisons to social media giant Facebook. For its part Google isn't making many references to social networking, not even using the term.

"We'd like to bring the nuance and richness of real-life sharing to software," Google stated on its blog . "We want to make Google better by including you, your relationships, and your interests. And so begins the Google+ project."

As most of us expected: they we're preparing something. A new social network called Google +. I'm curios to see what success it will have. Now the service it's still in beta somehow and not everybody can sign up.

well..beating down facebook is will be really hard..remember too late if we want launched a new social site nowadays..and that is include google too..if google really want to success at the social networking area they should have a unique content on their site..hmm..really different and interest maybe will gain a good active member on the site but im sure google will never launch a same social networking combine with adsense because as we can see many people just target to getting adsense only..and wow after they got adsense account they leave the site @_@
