Can You Define a Successful Trade?

This single question seems to be at the heart of both success and failure as a trader.

I'm curious as to what others use as their measuring rod for success. Is it accuracy, net ROI per trade, a positive MFE/MAE ratio, not getting stopped out, leaving a certain % of pips on the table in each position held, etc. etc., etc. How do you define it?

When you look in the mirror in the morning and say to yourself: 'You know something, you are a successful trader," what does that mean exactly?

A succesful trader is a trader that have make sum tons of cash in forex trading and also have a good and very tangible strategy that can make him withstand the market even when it is highly forstraight.however the best way to be a succesful trader is to take time to read and apply what u learn.

When we say a successful trader, our mind'll automatically jump to someone that had made a fortune out of the business. I guess we may use that a a yardstick.
Anyway, I believe a successful trader's someone who has effective trading skills and experiences. A trader who can replicate success in the face of difficulties. This doesnt mean he/she had not lost in any trade but his success margin's higher than his loses. I think thats what defines a successful trader.

For me here, the successful trader means the trader who has the profit in cash already. And then they stop trading forex. It means, they are not greedy and they know when to quit trading on Forex here. So, the trader can keep the winning money well

its easy to define a successful trader. for me, successful trader is people who able to make profit in forex market. the percentage maybe varies but if trader have 60% or above winning percentage, they can call as successful trader. winning or loosing percentage not calculated in daily basis but in monthly basis.

From my opinion a succesfull traders is a traders who can maintain his trading so he can always gain profit from his trading although he get a loss sometimes, but overall he can turn his loss to a profit with his others position from his trading =D

I think a successful trader is a trade that has a very broad knowledge in running a good forex trading and they are the one who has the technical expertise in trading and money management is good and that and I think a successful trade is a trade that can generate consistent profits on every trade

I don't think the question is how much, but simply "How?" How do they do what they do in order to be considered a professional? I would consider myself to be a Professional Forex Trader if my wife and I did not have to work for someone other than ourselves as a result of my consistent profits. I would not owe anyone any money as a result of my consistent profits. I would only trade 3 days per week and enjoy life the other four as a result of my consistent profits. I may not own million dollar homes, cars, boats, etc. as a result of my consistent profits, but me and everyone associated with me would be very comfortable. There is no dollar amount that can be determined in order to reach such a status, but reaching goals and dreams can certainly qualify one as a professional.

well i think the successful trader is who can make profit consistently although the profit is just a little, the successful trader enjoy with his job as a trader, he never go down when he loss, he can make trading for living, that is successful trader.
