How similar are online casinos to the real thing?

Hello,

I'm new to online casinos and gambling on the internet. I'm very interested in playing and will download and install my first casino first but before I begin I just wanted to ask the community here as to how similar online casinos are to the real thing. I've found that none of the land based casinos that I usually play at offer an online casino yet is there any reason for that in particular? I've looked at some of the games at this one casino called Slots Galore that I saw advertised here on Casino Advisor which look really fun and I'm excited to play but before I do I also want to know what my expectations should be like with regards to playing at online casinos.
