Personally, I find this cool, why?..because instead of tiring myself & my fingers in typing on the keyboard just to have chat with my families, relatives, friends, classmates etc., I'd rather use this video call..I'm sure a lot of people out there would agree with this, because to others, it's easier to call than type especially to those who are not really very good in typing..and through this I can actually & personally see the person on the other end whom I'm talking to..I should say, this is really one of the advantages that FB has right now...

ya its nice that facebook has collabrated with skype and now it provides its users a good video calling option but its not like google talk where you just call the other person and you connect with that person instantly but on facebook it takes a lot of time to connect because it keeps on loading

Video call is probably the best thing to communicate people with because with video communicator, you get to see the person's face which I think is very very good. That is why I think facebook has one good advantage above all others.

facebook is a smart social network site. facebook provide the features that people need. By presenting of this feature i.e video call all members are able to make a 'real' communication each other. All member can see his friend's face when they chat, not like old time where members are only make a communication by typing the text at the chat box.

Some people like this, but I think not all many facebook users used this thing, Because for me I will just use skype or something chat platform to video chat with my friends or love ones ,because the video quality is not that very good.

Well, it is nice though it cannot overlap other sites that has also video calls like skype, oovoo, etc. I much prefer skype compared to this feature of Facebook. In addition to that, I prefer much chatting than doing video calls. I really love to just chat all day long.

I think the reason why they installed this video call in facebook is, they want to have a one-stop-shop feature for the people to be able to continuously enjoy what they are seeing right now on it..meaning, while you are doing something, you can still do more things in one site only, that's why they created these additional features..and through this, I really salute these genius people behind this..keep on thinking for innovation..:cool:

This is surely a very great feature from facebook.But it is a really unfortunate matter that all of the users donot use the feature.As all the users maybe they are not interested in video chat or maybe they donot have a webcam.But this feature is a real fun.

Yours case is differnet bro but in our case it takes a lot of time to load even a picture then video call is really unmanageable.But still the feature provided is great and I hope we are being able to chat with our friends over there.

I tink the problem of loading very slow or fast is always dependent on the country that we are in,cos most thing in the internet does not really work in every country.Anf facebook has most things and applications that does not work in every country and that will also depend on where their database lays in every country.

Yes dabchi that is true that the connectivity issues depend upon the country that we reside on.And our country actually does not actually provide a very good speed.but still the feature is great and I use it very often and nearly daily.

Yes this is also the problem of facebook video chat.The feature is awesome without any doubt as well.But it is not available everytime and also the video chat is also not used by every one in facebook.Also only about 20% users use the feature.

Coming to the area of facebook not available atimes,i might say that it depends on the 1. Our phones types 2. Depends on our country 3. Also depends on the place where the facebook database is placed 4. Also our browser perfomance.So If all of these problem are in a very good terms there will be no problem of sort with the facebook feature.Hope am making points here.

This feature is one of the favorite of many facebook users. They enjoyed talking and seeing their friends, relatives, and family. When my friends see me online and they want to videochat on me, i say to them that i am busy. For me this feature is not fitted for me.

Does anyone know a url to a video, which explains video compression? Such as mpeg-4? I remember seeing a video on G4 Tech website that explained it well but can’t find the url anymore.

Skype remains the best in the business of making video calls. Video calls are very good in that you get to see the person on the other side unlike just plain chatting. With video calls, you dont need to be with the computer typing away all the time. All that is needed is to answer the call and start talking. i prefer it to chatting anytime, anyday.
