Apple iPad and Apple iPad 2 are tablet devices from Apple. iPad had been the benchmark for all tablets, now the legacy been passed to iPad 2. iPad and iPad 2 both are powered with Apple Propriety operating system Apple iOS and Apple Processors. iPad was released with Apple A4 processor and iPad 2 is built with A5 processor. iPad currently runs iOS 4.2.1 while iPad 2 runs iOS 4.3. iPad OS can also be upgraded to iOS 4.3. The major differences between iPad and iPad 2 are going to be the processor speed, operating system, front and rear built-in cameras, RAM and the thickness. The clock speed of the new A5 processor in iPad 2 is double that of the processor in iPad. Also, the performance of the GPU in iPad 2 is nine+ times better than iPad. The RAM size too doubled in iPad 2. In addition, iPad 2 has dual cameras, which was a shortfall in iPad. On the design side too iPad 2 is made thinner and lighter. It is one of the slimmest tablets in the market with 8.8 mm thinness. Apple is all set to retain its tablet market share with the release of the second generation iPad 2.

They are different very different in features because Apple Ipad 2 is more advance than the older one but still they are built with the same company?
