WOW its a really cool feature by google. We can search just by talking something in mic. Unfortunately its not available for my country as well. Anyways, i know google will be innovative so that it will be available for other countries as well.

I think it is very useful either, but unfortunately, it is not accessible to my country too, but I know it will be, soon. Hmm, I'm thinking if I use a proxy with I.P from U.S, can someone guess if it would work? I'll try it later. :)

This feature of google is really helpful but somehow i can not feed back based on my experience because i have just heard about it. I can not try it even my self because of country restriction only to us and canada users only. I hope they made it open to everyone.

@jojonarte, yes it is restricted on our country, but I think it is only for now, I hope so. Anyways, I did try to use a proxy with server on the US but still it didn't work at all, now I ran out of idea to use and to access this great features of Google. :)

I don't think so, since it only accessible from us and canada, I think the languages it only accepts only belongs to those countries mentioned. But who knows, since Google are trending each day, time will come it will also shares on the other country, till then, we can able to use that feature. :)

Oh, too bad. But I can wait for that day. That's hard though, about ten times harder as the main transalator of google for inputting a lot of languages, and now, by creating it for voice records and corresponding codes of it.

Google voice acts like voicemail too. And it can be used like skype service but unfortunately this service failed to make it's mark outside US. So definitely they're going to use the service to expand. But i think unless it reaches to Asia, most of us will never able to make it to try it on their apps or computers.

That's also what I think of before, because of the voice we sent on the site, it will automatically detect and show what we are looking for. I also think of it like a voice command we can do on some of mobile phones where you just have to say the word and then there you go. :)

It is not available for the indian users. Not available for any user other than united states. You can't even use it using any of the known proxies. So this must be the issue of google not supporting it over long period or maybe they want to restrict users. I think this is one good thing that it saves money for them.

@ryuken, you're right, I attempt to try it using a proxy from the US but it didn't work out, I even use the anonymous web proxy search engine, but it also failed, they do have a strictness regarding the use of it, well, it is sad because we can get the benefit of this features.

It is not available for the indian users. Not available for any user other than united states. You can't even use it using any of the known proxies. If it successfuly goes on, then it might be launched on the other country too, but the question is, the voice support that will recognized all the words that users will utter. There are lots of common words and even the accent I think will be a problem for those who will try it on the other country.

It seems to be pretty interesting feature that google is providing. Sometimes when we search any particular subject, writing seems to be difficult. So at that moment, we could use our voice to express what we are searching for. In this way we can easily get what we were searching for.

No, check only your pronunciation, diction. It's not really how you're voice is, pleasing or what, sounds low or high pitched. Most detectors can do that, the only thing that matters is if you can say it well, so the computer can understand it.

I don't think so, I believe it will focus more on pronunciation, but if the words have the similar sounds, then that could be complicated because it will show either the one that you are really saying or looking for or the one which its sounds like.

yes that is possible in the philippines and this feature of google is just the first step. Everything now is getting better and technologies are innovated daily. For sure within the next years this step of google will be remembered as a stepping stone to the voice command system of everything.

Actually some days ago it does not work in India.but now it available to worldwide.when i open Google chrome i open Google.com
i see a icon bar at the lest side of search box.it's the voice search icon ,then i use my microphone and said some keyword and suddenly
Google gives me the keyword search result.good features.

this facility does not give you in the mobile phone.but if you have Nokia e series phone or much better phone then there is a application named"Google search",just download it and you can see a voice search option just click on it and you need to talk.
and suddenly you get the search result as your voice query

Sometimes our accents will have problem when using this type of feature I guess. I too prefer the keyword input because we can get variety of choices as the google form gives us reactive keywords which come up when we type anything.

oh so google voice search is like speech to text function but they make it for searching.so many problem there if they cannot detect what we talking about,accent of the user also influenced it too.but maybe for native speaker then able to use it easily

Actually it is somewhat similar but in google voice search when you input your voice as keywords it will then be translated into data and received by google and then they will show you good search results just like normal searching.

owh i see,, its just like recaptcha voice, but recaptcha sent us a voice and the google voice it's using our voice to fill keywords. i think it more simple type keyword than filling it with our voice, sometimes our voice can be not recognize by google system because every people have their own habit to speaking.

i have also tried this but the same problem that is i speak some thing and Google find something another,suppose i speak "grown" then it will search "crown" ,,but not every time ,it sometime happened.
but after all it detect our voice,and i think if we speak properly then it will not happened in future.

Yes it is working now in Asia, not just a Browser is required. Being mentioned that it is a voice search you must have to input your voice into it to do the search. You must have a working microphone so you can do use this type of searching option.

for what I learned this application is not open internationally. this is great when you are tired of typing the searches. Just use your voice to tell Google what it needs to search. Am I getting it right?

If you're using android Ice cream sandwich which was released yesterday and is on phone google galaxy nexus. This phone and the android OS is going to allow you to use voice search. It's not easy and it's not accurate either. But you can use it for typical file search and google search. It requires a bit training but you'll get to it.

I find it not user friendly if you said that it is not easy and accurate. I rather come back to the usual typing that make it hard to study it myself. But it is good for those who cannot type fast or disabled invidual who cannot type with their hands, something like that. It is still good to have this kind of application.

if you are from US then you can use this option. i was dying to have this one till i have learned it is not available outside US. i don't know when it will be available to some other countries at least. maybe it will take a lot for them to make this feature available to all countries.

I think they're soon going to improve voice search on android phones to match like SIRI. Siri is apple based technology, and google wants to copy it. I am sure they have patent for the same. But i guess it is better to have more choice with technology. Google voice search has ability like SIRI but soon it will get there.

Google voice search is on mobile which is available in all countries. Web based search is only for US based computers and internet connection. As for mobile, the android phones have that facility and you can try that yourself if you go to nearest mobile store. You don't have to use keyboards while talking that;s the thing about this new search. But considering bad search, you'll find it boring.

SIRI is proprietory and has more features than google search. For example, SIRI can handle a lot of your personal data and sometimes answers your personal questions based on the previous data. But google voice search is only for hmm..voice search. So there is not much of innovation so far on googles part. In future maybe but not for now.

so are you saying that you have used this one. but i guess sometimes you would need to train the phone to better recognize your voice. the more often you use, the better it wold be able to interpret your voice accurately and turn it into words on the mobile screen.

It is working on all android phones. So it is not country specific if you're using android based mobile phones. I would like to know if it works on all the desktops. So far i haven't tried it on my desktop because i have no voice based connection to tell. But i guess it should work for some of the users who have such features on their desktop. Microsoft sam is installed on all the windows OS.

Discovery channel featured this one already. It is availabe for Iphone, Blackberry and Nokia phones. And if you have Android phones it enables you to speak rather than typing the searches. Haven't tried it but it is less effort in typing and very useful whenever you are doing multi-tasking.

Yes it looks weird, but I it is very useful. Like when you are multi tasking, you do not have to type it , you just have to say it. I hope this voice search can able to know the right spelling of what you are voicing out, or else wrong searches, or you wish to type it instead to make it right.

of course there would be right spelling most of the time if they recognize the words you spoke. this can be convenient feature at first. but i think in the long run we may get tired of this feature and may just feel like doing searches by typing words in our keypad. i don't think that this would be such a popular feature in the phone.

You can use that feature on android phone if you wish. I don't think that feature has any limitation for countries if you're using it via android phone. That is how i have noticed that they do allow voice search via android app. Just take a look and who knows you could use that any time.

I don't know why they're restricted to android OS only. But using siri on apple you can do web searches so it may be possible search on web using siri. I think this is because of the limitations from developer. As android is for middle class and lower class budegt, there is need for voice app. Current voice app does work but it is not much popular as far as i know.

That should be a very good step that google have introduced but in order words, if you consider the cost of maintaining all the talking search engine requires, you will come to understand that really google will have to provide some ear or enhancement and also it also requires you to also have sound card installed in your system if possible you also need to have something like speaker so that you can receive the voice search result and much more.

Google voice search is good but it is on the chrome only. you can't use them same on the firefox or simialr other service. i am sure there are some other software where we can use that but most of the time it is not possible for the same. there are however ways to make it easy to do so. i hope they add it to other software.

google voice search is commonly used in mobile phones than in computers. google voice search is also in my android phone but i dont prefer voice search becase the voice testing device need accurate pronunciation otherwise it leads to another contents. so it is not so effective.
